Adagio (from Concerto) Thomasso Albinoni (1671-1751)

In January of this year, we offered you the first part of a concerto by Albinoni, promising to offer the second and third parts later on in the year. We’re keeping that promise this month for the second part – the third part will follow later.
There isn’t much to say about this piece. It is a tranquil middle movement accompanied by a mellow 8’ with a leading stop for the solo part. Possible options include a Flute 8’, perhaps with a Gamba or a Principal 8’. A Nazard is also a possibility. A Tremulant is an optional addition.
